Does the link open in an app or the browser?

Since this is a static code, the whole address sits inside the pattern. A long link crammed with tracking parameters makes a dense image that the camera struggles to lock onto quickly, especially printed small.

Trim the URL before generating — drop needless parameters and prefer a short path. A bold, low-density code reads faster on more phones, which matters most on the older devices that are already borderline.

Build a no-app link code

  1. Paste the full URL. Include the https:// prefix so the phone treats it as a link to open, not a phrase to search for.
  2. Shorten a long address. Strip tracking parameters to keep the pattern bold — a dense code is the usual reason an older camera fails to lock on.
  3. Scan with a plain camera. Test with a stock iPhone Camera app, not a scanner app, so you confirm it opens with nothing installed.
  4. Export for the surface. Choose PNG for screens and stickers, SVG when it must print large and stay crisp.
