Type your Telegram username and this makes a code that opens your profile in the reader's Telegram app, ready to start a chat or hit the follow button on your channel. No number swapping, no spelling out an @handle across a noisy room — they scan, the app jumps to you.
It's built from your public t.me link, so it only works for accounts, channels and groups that actually have a username set. A private profile with no username can't be reached this way, because there's nothing public to point the link at.
Your username is the whole payload
Enter just the username — the handle after the @ — not the @ symbol and not a full web address. The tool wraps it into the t.me link for you. If you paste '@mychannel' the leading @ can end up doubled in the link and break the jump, so type 'mychannel' on its own.
You must have set a username in Telegram first. Fresh accounts don't have one until you add it under Settings, and without it there's no public link to encode.
App versus web: where the link lands
If Telegram is installed, the scan deep-links straight into the app and opens your chat or channel. If it isn't, the same t.me link falls back to the web preview in a browser, where the reader sees your profile and a prompt to open or install Telegram.
That graceful fallback is handy: the code isn't useless to someone who hasn't installed Telegram yet — it becomes an invitation to.
Personal account, channel or group
The same link format serves all three, as long as each has a public username. Point it at your personal @handle for direct messages, at a channel to grow subscribers, or at a group to funnel people into the conversation.

How to make a Telegram QR code
- Set a username in Telegram first. Under Settings, give the account, channel or group a public username. Without one there's no t.me link to encode and the code can't work.
- Enter the username only. Type the handle without the @ and without t.me/. Adding the @ yourself is the classic mistake — it can double up in the link and break it.
- Scan to confirm the jump. Test with Telegram installed and again without it, so you know it deep-links into the app and falls back to the web preview cleanly.
- Download and print. SVG for a large print that stays crisp, PNG for a story graphic or sticker.

- Do I type the @ in front of my username?
